About This Project
I created this website as a place to share my thoughts about conflict, war, politics, culture, and peace. Like so many, I have become frustrated by our times and have found myself searching for an artistic constructive outlet.
I have a passion for progressive politics. I believe that peace is pragmatic. The ways that we approach conflicts matter. Moreover, I am convinced that the ways we frame and think about power, what is going on, how parties in conflict relate to one another, and how we as individuals relate to various conflicts, affects the course of history.
With those thoughts in mind, the materials and art you will find here are my collage of cultural artifacts. They are my small tribute to a massive peace and cultural literacy movement. I seek to interplay historical and contemporary content, and to tell stories about history, civic and cultural awareness, cultural and political psychology, journalism, “the press,” war and peace, and good government.
To me, the very concept of educational television, as spoken of by Edward R. Murrow on the night Channel 13 was born (video below), is ingenious. Television has its place in the public interest.
For many years, I have envisioned a venue that could revive and tap into the vast archives of television, music, and film, and teach stories of today through the lens of yesterday.
My vision here is to explore and display these materials and the myths, messages, symbols, and icons that pervade major public discussions.
These pages will remain under constant construction, as I learn to shape their form and function.
Overall, I hope you enjoy the time you spend exploring this project. Please check back in often for new materials.
Peace.
